—The drug substance of Trankimazin is alprozolam.

—The remaining components of Trankimazin 0.50 mg. are: hydrated lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, maize starch, colloidal sylex dioxide, magnesium estearate, sodium dioctil sulphosuccionated 85% with sodium benzoate 15% yellow aluminium coating.

—Trankimazin belongs to a group of drugs called benzodiazepines. They are efficient in the treatment of anxiety and they also have some specific properties for anguish crises. The onset is fast and so is its early maximum effect. It belongs to the pharmacotherapeutical group of tranquilizers (ansiolitics) derived from benzodiazepine. Each pill contains 0.50 mg of alprozolam as a drug substance.

—Trankimazin 0.50 mg is sold in a blister with 30 oval-shaped pills of peach colour, with a crack to improve dosing.

—In most cases only a short term treatment with Trankimazin is needed (usually no more than two weeks). Treatment must start at low doses. The maximum dose must not be exceeded.
