About this book

The panels in this comic are stories without words, based on visual gags, a type of humour that is elegant and universal. Their main character is an already old sportsman who beats guys who are far bigger and stronger by using his brains, and thus it is a vindication of intelligence against force. “Tito has to solve the sport challenges he finds in an original and funny way, always using tricks and even leaving the rules of the game behind”, the authors explains in an interview included at the end of the story.

The unusual ideas of this sportsman include trying to win a diving fishing competition robbing the fishmonger’s, playing chess, exciting his neurones with an electroshock machine or beating the opponent at boxing by introducing an anvil in his gloves. He is too weak to belong to the sports elite, but he is ingenious enough to become one of the readers’ favourite characters.

Football, races, jumping, boxing, discus throwing, regattas, skiing… No sport has secrets for Tito Longueirón, maybe the most complete athlete in history (and stories). In each discipline he is confident and uses his innate qualities, such as playing tricks and a tendency to forget about the rules of the game.
