Poetry
Os hemisferios
By María do Cebreiro
About this book
This book is written so that people enter the poems. Os hemisferios was meant to prompt understanding, that is why it is also a question.
Trees and planets, the earth and the sky, the moon and the sun create the refuge for the voices. The word, speech and idioms directly relate poetry with what is outside. The interior is the exterior and vice-versa; appearance is reality.
These poems, like ice, show and at the same time hide. The poetry scratches the surface of language, leaves traces, footprints on the run. With subtle delicacy, María do Cebreiro (Compostela, 1976) acknowledges them and warns of their presence.
Book fragment
(Love poem)
HOW does the stain spread?
(Same as love)Denying blue is more than naming it.
I won't speak of the sea. It is not possible. The old and the young spend their time in the furrow
Then skin crosses skin
in order to hide the vulnerable parts
or leaves blanks where nobody knows. The net mender opens her palms.
She wants to show the cracks.
Black only reached
to make the damage more visibleWhen the vessels explode the universe hesitates.
The footprints make the moonlight warm
Galaxies expand. Some black holes learn to speak.
The conquest of space is reversible.
Empires do not have any inside.
Blue only takes place outside time.
