About this book

Six very different women attend a knitting class, a place where their frustrations are shared and where they also become aware of their situation and the need to change. Inspired by the liberating story of Aunt Davinia, Matilde, Anxos, Rebeca, Elvira, Luz and Fernanda the novel brings the readers into their story through multiple perspectives that undo the fabric of a sexist society. Through a feminine space par excellence such as knitting María Reimóndez gives voice to these women who, despite their differences, find in unity the strength to overcome a present predicament that denies and underestimates them. Using mystery and a lively style, drawing the reader into a very entertaining narration, humorous at times, the author of O Club da calceta offers a novel that, apart from being surprising, leads the readers into a deep reflection and revision of the situation of women in society.

Book fragment

–I can assure you that these cases are related.

The individual in question shuffles the papers again, the papers he has had for the past half an hour on the desk of the police officer. The policeman looks at him with incredulity. He takes a look at them, slowly.

Accident at work

(Editorial) A construction worker dies after falling from the fifth floor of a building on which he was working. All evidence seems to suggest that this is a new case of carelessness on behalf of the worker and lack of appropriate safety measures. F.Z.P. 36 was alone when the accident happened. The employer will be investigated by the labour risk prevention service in order to clarify the cause of this accident.

An accident at work, there are so many.
