Galicia e o mar. Xeografía e historia do mar galego
By Óscar Pazos, Xosé Manuel Cerviño, Juán José Losada
About this book
This work tries to convey to the reader the extensive – and intense -- relationship between Galicia and the sea, both from a naturalist perspective and from a human perspective. This work describes the geological space, with its flora and fauna, with its beaches and cliffs, navigation, with boats and peoples who sailed our coasts -- sometimes as origin, sometimes as destination of ports of call between cultures -- the imprint that this relationship had on Galician identity with its ethnographic representations; the imprint also in the economy and society of this territory. In a nutshell, it is a comprehensive view written in an appealing language and with plenty of illustrations.
