About this book

With this volume, Oriana Méndez brings Galician poetry into the 21st century. The book shows great maturity and offers a poetic text as a demolition machine against usury, as an unresolved conflict, as a starting signal.

Using irony against the poetry fossils of our time, the author dissects the experience of postmodernism, opens tunnels in the metropolis we continuously inhabit. She tenses her verses, confronts her deep feeling for beauty with the strictness of crossing her steps in order to get moving.

AN INCOUNTABLE NUMBER OF YEARS AGO
at the same time glaciation indicated
the shivering of the iceberg, the full moon
that precise moment in which the sailing
through the rivers of the invisible started:

the enclosure is opened for some tender tamed beings
in the schizophrenia of two worlds that live together
ready to destroy one another
protected by spirals with treasures of Captain Kraft
the silent figure that introduces the voices of the characters
in a continuous reception state

subjected to a space in which the law
is the search for a form that destroys it
in which the bodies
beat
and speak
and say:
