Book fragment
Once upon a time there was a hyena and a hare who met on their way to the river and decided to go fishing together.
While they were fishing, the hare asked,
“Do you know what hurts most in the world?”
“Being stood on by an elephant”, answered the hyena.
“No!” said the hare.
“A tooth ache.”
“No!” the hare said again.
“A wasp sting?”
“Not even that.”
The hyena, tired of the game,
“I give up!”
“A lie is the thing that hurts the most,” assured the hare
“Ha! Ha! Ha!” laughed the hyena
“A lie hurts less than a scratch on the foot.”
So the hare said, “Hurt my foot and I’ll prove to you a lie hurts more.”
The hyena didn’t give it another thought, sunk his teeth into the hare’s paw and gave a wicked laugh.
The hare yelped in pain and limp ouch, limp ouch, disappeared, limp ouch, among the trees.
The wound healed in a matter of days.
